The seeing was very good last night :D unfortunately it was a battle to get the data processed correctly, as a result only 984 frames were stacked to create this image. :( I'd love to have seen what the full 2000 would have looked like.
Scope - SW 10" goto Dobbie
Camera - Canon 550D
Software used - DVDconvPro, Virtual Dub, Registax 6 and CS3.
Ok, here is what I managed to pull out of AS!2 using the same data. It stacked 3927 frames. LOL It nearly sent me insane trying to get this program to work with any file what so ever. :screwy: I ended up talking it into using individual bitmaps. :)

Fantastic image - the colouring, the banding, the rings - excellent!

Nice result, JJJ. Looks like you took good advantage of the favourable seeing.
Will be interesting to see a larger stack if you can sort out your technical issues, but 984 frames seems to have been enough to give you a smooth result, and you have some nice definition of the C ring.

The repro is well worth the effort. Such good work JJJ, everything has come together in this image. Very impressive!
What Picture Style settings do you use for capture on the Canon?

Good stuff Jeanette, you can drag & drop bmp files into AS 2. A nice result here, hope this has whetted your appetite to go deeper into planetary imaging.

Nice going for having only done a few planetary images. You look to have caught a good night of seeing too. Making us planetary dudes with all the gear look bad. ;)

Cool
I just tried it on my 12" Dobbie, seeing is terrible tonight.
Got a quick vid with no Powermate. But couldn't even find it in the liveview when I tried to Magnify
Any tips ?

Track it down by eye first through the view finder, then center it using Live view. ISO 1600 and 1 sec exp. should bring it up nicely.
Then change to Movie Crop mode to capture your video.
Saturn will be best around midnight.
Have you shortened your struts to gain focus? It's easy enough to forget to do so if you're concentrating on other things.
