Took this a few days ago. Terrible weather down in Melbourne for the past week. Managed to grab a few shots when the clouds were cleared up just. Plenty of dew and a very very cold night. Was 10 x 2 minute with Meade DSI. Stacked in Registax processed in Photoshop CS2.

Hi Ezy,

A nice shot with great colours. There appears to be a fair degree of vignetting, or at least a blue gradient. Do you have the opportunity to apply flats to your DSI raw images, or are they combined "on the fly"?

Thanks for your reply guys. Haven't had any opportunity to apply flat fields yet Tony. Need to bang myself a box first or is there an easier way to do flat fields?

I use a white shirt, draped/stretched over the scope with the same optical congifuration as I used with the lights.
This is done during the day (usually the next mornng) using natural light in the house. I set the camera in "P" mode using ISO100 and let it do its bit. I rotate the scope a little after each exposure and then average combine about 20 frames. This seems to work well, giving a histogram spike 1/3 to 1/2 way across the graph when viewed on the camera's LCD.

Cheers
