And just for Background, this medal is Australia's highest honour for achievements in amateur astronomy and is awarded by the professional astronomers themselves as judged by the ASA.
This is how I got notified: "I’m writing to let you know that we have a winner for the 2012 Berenice and Arthur Page Medal. The medal will be awarded to Anthony Wesley for high quality observations of the Jovian and Saturnian atmospheres and the discovery of an impact cloud and an atmospheric flash on Jupiter from superbolide collisions"
Completely well deserved recipient, and of course I had the pleasure of congratulating Anthony in person.

Hi Anthony
A big congrats to you.
Cheers Petra d.
Thanks everyone, it's a great honour to be chosen as the 2012 recipient. I'm on my way back home today - made it to maitland tonight, in the middle of some ferocious storms.
I'll be home lunchtime tomorrow and hoping to get some clear skies and get back into imaging in the next few days.
cheers, Bird

Well done Anthony well deserved. I must admit i had never heard of this medal before. What a brilliant achievement. And congratulations to the organisers and judges of this medal for acknowledging Anthony's achievment for the scientific community. Shows being in the right place at the right time with the right gear can have its rewards.
Thanks again everyone. The level of cooperation between amateurs and pros in planetary science has increased considerably over the last few years, our work being included in published papers now makes it clear that we may be "amateurs" in the sense of doing this for the love of it, but we are definitely not "amateurs" in the quality of work being produced.
cheers, Bird

Hi everyone,
First off I want to apologise for misspelling Page, if the moderator could amend the threat title I would be grateful.
The next thing is if anyone has a photo of Anthony receiving his medal at the NACAA Presentation Dinner I would also be very grateful for. I would like to use it in a short article for the BAS Observer, please include photo credit.
Thanks in advance.
