Conditions in Adelaide this evening were very bad. Broken cloud, jetstream, strong surface wind making it difficult to keep the planet in the frame at f/33, and Mars at low altitude. I only persisted out of sheer bloody-mindedness.

Following on from some comments in another thread, even though this data was really poor, I'm posting it anyway, as I believe this image is a testament to the brilliant work that Emil K. has done with AS!2.

Here is the result, for what it is worth. C11 + TV 3x Barlow + DMK21AU04, each channel R,G,B is a stack of 50% of 3000 frames at 30 fps.

I can conclude that my 'bad seeing' was a lot better than yours, Ivan. A great result from the conditions you describe for sure!

brave imaging Ivan. Conditions were very ordinary - this is a good result. Regards ray

Look OK to me - you have a great set up and I look forward to seeing your stuff under less-bloody mindedness conditions!!!

Thanks John, last year this session wouldn't have even yielded a result (I was using a webcam), so mustn't grumble too much.

Cheers Ray, when I looked at the GFS 200mb map this morning it showed we had 40-50kt jetstream, so I reckon lucky to get anything other than an orange ball.

Quite right Trevor.

Thanks Matt, actually I'm pretty happy with this rig now. Can't wait to try it on Mercury later this year.

Nice work Ivan :)
Hope we get some nice conditions before then!
