Howdy! :hi:

What a busy week it has been. Only managed a bit over an hour under moonlit skies on NGC3532.

Details with the image, click original at the bottom of the page for a larger image.

Not my best work, but happy with it for the short time.

As usual, tips and suggestions welcome.

Thanks for looking. :)

PS: Happy Easter to all IIS'ers! :D

Lovely result. What a pretty cluster. I like the red nebulosity drifting in towards center. Colors look good as well.

Only observation which is only apparent on original size version only is some stars (medium brightness ones) seem to have a square or diamond shaped halo. I find I get this when I push deconvoltution or minimum filter just that little bit too much. But cant say for sure in this image.

Happy easter back to you.

Enjoyed this cluster a lot because you have preserved a lot of the star colours which I always struggle with. Thanks for showing!

Hi Marcus, thank you! It is my favourite open cluster. :D

Thanks, CV! :) I will look into the star shape suggestion, although there was little in the way of decon or min filter.

Hi Darrin, cheers. The great thing about it is the star colours are there all on its own. I just give them a little bit of saturation to enhance it a bit. I used to struggle with the other scope I had, however have now realized that it wasn't me at all, it may actually have been the optics.

Nice, appears to be a little bit soft on focus but great colours

Very nice image, Gray. Beautiful star field with good colours and the adjacent nebulosity comes out well. There appears to be a certain amount of diffusion in the brighter stars which adds to the atmosphere.

A nice cluster and you've captured and processed it well.

Cheers

Hi Trevor. Ummmm.....yes, you have caught me out there! For some reason the focus slipped during the session and I had to hand pick the best of a bad bunch!

Thanks Bob! It is my favourite visual OC. :)

Cheers, Rigel! I'm glad you liked it! I think this one will have to go on the wall. :)

Thanks for the comments, Steve! :D

Cheers, Ross! I should be thanking Mr Takahashi for the great colour, it really is a great scope to work with!

Noice Grey. Love the saturation and the colours a just cracking. Nice mottling of the dust and gas within the region.

Hi Elyse, thank you. :)

I'm not sure if you mean "see these things through a scope with your eyes", however, only a camera will show it like this. Visually, it will be hard to pick colour unless you use a large scope which will help to bring the colour out.

Thank you Paul, appreciate your comments. :D

Nice one!
Funny how we often overlook clusters as targets. This is a good reminder what we're missing out on!

Thanks, Rob! :)

What you say is very true and they are simplistically beautiful! I am going to try to do a few more before I move back to trying my hand at narrow band images.

Great cluster image, and the colours have come out very nice. I think clusters are not imaged as often as they should be, they are just beautiful. Thanks for the view.
