I love how the word "ambidextrous" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ambidextrous) can be written the same way using either hand if you're gifted that way.....

I like optometrist, but only if you pronounce it with emphasis on the wrong syllables, like opto from "opto-couple" and metrist with the emphasis on the E. :) opto-mEtrist.

I am also a fan of the *-able words, like: comfortable, washable, visible, debatable. They have quite varied meanings but all in some way are enabled to perform or provide the word they modify: comfort, wash, vision and debate.

There are MANY examples and I particularly enjoy making up my own, such as: Sometimes you can be so idiotable; that place is always funable; that guy's face is just SO punchable.

Touche Syzygy...Touche   ...may I ask as to what you are in alignment with?

I know this is not exactly what Ving asked for but for a good collection of funny and real words, see if you can get a copy of "The Superior Person's Little Book of Words" by Peter Bowler.

Here is a word that I sometimes use while at work: "mystagogue". If applied to yourself then you are a person who instructs/teaches in mystical or arcane lore. I firmly believe that astronomy falls under the category of mystical and arcane so I introduce myself in the following way while doing a public show - Good afternoon to you all. My name is Peter and I will be your mystagogue for this afternoon's show.

None has ever come up to me and asked what I have meant by that! :P

Peter.

Its ironic that the word phonetic isn't spelled phonetically :confuse3:
