Little things mean a lot

:DJust a couple of pictures I took tonight with my little Sony Cyber Shot camera while searching the sky. Nothing special but it is the first time I have managed to get a pic of the moon and saturn. :eyepop:They looked far better than the pictures but I am excited they came out. I took one of mars but the red colour didn't come out very well.
I ended up getting my 12 mm eyepiece and it is great on some nights especially viewing the M42. So beautiful.
I thought I saw a moon around the star to the left of the orion but not sure. Have to do some research. I love the fly objects in the night sky but sometimes they are a bit too fast to keep track of.
One day I am going to find something special out there.:rofl:

Those are great, I love the middle one of Saturn, very much like what I see through the eyepiece at that magnification.

The only moons you will see other than ours are the ones around the other planets in our solar system, such as Jupiter and Saturn. It is great discovering the night-sky piece by piece.

A moon map is a great thing to own, as is a moon-globe.

Those Moon shots have come out quite nicely, you do realise that from now on it gets very addictive. :lol:

Keep on looking, there is so much out there that the odds of finding something special are probably quite good.

I surprised myself but had do try. It is just too good not to share and talk about addictive, I can't take my eyes off the sky to the point where I start feeling quite dizzy and then I start seeing all kinds of lights. No I am not drugs either.

Yes Peter the google earth is good but not as exciting as doing it yourself. I am going to buy a moon map. I still haven't found the man in the moon yet!!!!

Hi jjj,
I was using my 26mm EP and a moon filter but my camera did all the work. I was amaized they came out like they did as it is only a normal little digital camera. It is hard to stop the moon from moving so fast. Just as I get it in the middle of the ep I have to be quick as it goes and then I lose it, have to have the camera ready straigh away.
I did use the 12mm but I found the 26mm gave me more open space to get an outside edge.

I know what you mean Brent. It is hard to stop at that. But I am not experienced enough yet to go further, at the moment I would like to perfect at least a good shot. It is hard to even put the scope away. I go from one star to another and then just one more thinking I might see something else.

Peter, I was actually expecting to see the flag from Neal Armstrong but I suppose that is a dream. I love the way it looks so lonely up there on the moon but the quaters are something else. Thank your for the link.
I did't expect to get a shot of Saturn that way. I was so excited and still can't believe I saw it so clear but would like to see it larger and closer. Does it get closer to us??
