Hello,

Here is my effort at recording the close conjunction between our sister planet, Venus and the lovely star cluster of the Pleiades, commonly known as the seven sisters.

From our suburb, the skies to the west are plagued by light pollution from Brisbane and on this occasion, a thin ribbon of cloud that moved in, albeit just for the duration of the best views,:rolleyes: before Venus disappeared behind a tree on its way to meet with the horizon.:)

It is a stack of 5 x 5 second exposures a with a canon 40D, Canon 400mm F5.6 lens at ISO100.

Cheers

Dennis

That cloud was coming-and-going a bit wasn't it Dennis. Always frustrating when there's something to photograph and it's about to disappear behing trees!

Cheers,
Stephen

Hello,

Thanks Liz, David & Stephen!:)

It was a little frustrating that the ribbons of cloud only loitered during the key phase when Venus was visible, finally dispersing when Venus dipped behind the tree line. Oh well, only 8 years until the next event.

Cheers
