Where are the aliens? - ok the easy answer is "out there". Could be an interesting episode on SBS's origins tonight (2.4.06). Personally I feel last weeks episode was a primer for this - we'll see.

Saturn is as big as the Sun. I could get over that though.
But then showing a planet in a highly elliptical orbit, and the star it is orbiting is at the centre of the ellipse instead of at one of its focal points!! Isaac Newton must be rolling in his grave. :scared:

I'm sure there were a few dodgy bits of science there, not the least of which was stating various theories of evolution as if they were facts !
That said though, I enjoyed the program.
Kind of backs up my belief that there is life everywhere in the universe, but that intelligent life that is capable of building the technology to communicate across the galaxy will be much rarer.
At least rare at the same time as we are doing just that !

I'd have to agree Ian. Very rare indeed. Who knows, we may have missed the signal sent, by 10 million years....either before we evolved here on earth....or after the human race is long gone.

Your mission tonight (if you choose to accept) is to photograph one of those 'other jupiters' out there.
