Hello everyone!!

Despite my dragging the laptop off the table during the imaging session last Sunday night - my foot got caught in the cables snaking across the lawn - I managed to image both Mars and Saturn (new image loaded).

Both of these were done using eyepiece projection and processing was done in Registax6.

I'm fairly happy with my Mars image however I found it very hard to focus on Saturn. At first I thought it might have been poorish seeing but having just viewed Tom's version of the same night at about the same time I think it was definitely my focusing! (Collimation was fine as I do that before each session.) Hang on, perhaps it may be some residual thermals coming off the neighbour's roof...

Anyway, there's always another night!

Cheers,
Mario

PS I've also attached a picture of my setup which shows the many trip hazards I had to deal with. This is not my usual imaging spot but it did allow me to see past the Lilli-Pilli tree that is the subject of much vibrant discussion in our household!!

Reckon thats a pretty good effort with Mars Mario.
Saturn is effected much more by the seeing and is best imaged at the moment at approx 14 to 16UTC when it is at higher alts.

I finally cleaned up all my cables after one to many trips.
But last night I reached around to unlock the clutch on the mount and hit the off switch instead. The possums learned some new words...

Ray, Peter and Trevor, thanks for you thoughts and comments on my images.

I'm not quite sure what happened but I've just noticed the background of the image of Saturn is quite blue. (I did play with the image at work and obviously my monitors are different to mine at home).

Anyway, below is a better version - no strange background!!

Cheers,
Mario

:) Hey Mario, I have one of those tables too. We got ours from Home Art. Great arent they. I only use mine indoors. ATM I'm using a small ironing board as my adjustable outside work table. LOLOL
Fantastic work on Mars too.

Thanks Asi!

Tom, I too was happy to see clouds - better up there than down here!! As for the presentation, I'd like to say I do it that way so that my sons can get an idea of what I'm looking at. However, it's really for me so that when I go back and look at the picture I know what I actually imaged!

Oh, I'm glad you liked the logo, it gave me something to do during the cloudy summer!

Jeanette, the table is good except on unstable ground. When I tripped on the cables the other night I managed to break one of the clips that hold on the legs so I need to get a new table...

Cheers,
Mario
