M20 QHY10 GSO RC10 Quicky

Haven't taken any pics with this combo for a while. Had some troubles with guiding and all came back together at 0300 so only managed to grab a quick 40 minutes. Must come back for a longer visit!!

Thanks Rick, I was amazed how much the little 'coke can' was able to get in 40 minutes. I can't wait to get a few hours of capture and see how much it improves.



Thanks Ross This was only a quick process with DSS and I would normally go for a separated process in CCDStack. I always find that the one shot processing with DSS screws around with the colors a bit and the blue suffers and needs adjusting in Photoshop. I might repro in CCDstack and see if it can be improved, a bit of deconvolution might also help.

New REPRO!

reprocessed the data through CCDStack separating into RGB and processing each separately. Recombined and Lum created that then was deconvolved. All brought back together in PS4.

I think it helped. Still needs more Subs.

Nice work Paul,

the second repro is alot better! you should try add a little bit more "lumenance" not the photographic kind as the image is still quiet dark.

Now im in the new house you'll have to come down for a evening under the stars.

Thanks Brendan, still working with only 40 minutes at F8, Really surprising that there is as much data as there is in this pic.

I Have just made a new repro based on the AS&T article by Jay Gabany on Layering Image Contrast and it seems to have punched out a totally different pic. Hope it's not too much!

Wonderful result Paul. The last one may have gone a bit far IMO. More exposures and you will have a top image.

wind back on the saturation give your background a slight bump in curves in the 1/4 point. put a point there. ide say 2-4 arrow up clicks and you should see the background lighten up :) Ill have to show you what i mean some time!
