Hi there

Welcome comments, reviews from anyone who has this scope and uses it for astrophotography.

Orion ED102T CF APO.

Looking to upgrade my ED80 soon, and surfing in this price range. I could be persuaded to look at other similar scopes if someone can talk me out of the Orion ;).

Cheers Petra d.

:) Hi Petra , have a look at the Long Perng 90mm f/5.5 Apo at Andrews .
I got one and its a very nice scope with top optics , and only 450mm fully collapsed with a 2 inch diagonal attached .
I to upgraded from an ED80 , and to be able to do this you really have to spend a considerable amount of money to better the ed80's , as you know the Ed80's are that good .
Food for thought  .
Brian.

Hi Brian

Many thanks, I appreciate your comments. Ill check out Andrews - thanks.

I'm still weighing options and I would like to upgrade before Border Stargaze. I've set my budget to $2000ish so looking to getting the best features for best possible price.

Hence looking for IISers experience with 100mm+ scopes.

Cheers Petra d.

Here's another to consider Petra for about $2000 plus shipping from Germany: http://www.apm-telescopes.net/en/product.html?info=3087

Myself and a few others have owned the Sharpstar version from Japan - it's a very high quality scope. I've only used it for visual though.

Edit: here's the same scope cheaper from a better dealer: http://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p2527_APM-APO-Super-107-700mm-with-2-5--PHOTO-focuser-and-FPL53-lens.html
- works out to about $1700 plus shipping (plus gst).
