Mars - March 20, 2012 - Better seeing conditions

Got some better then average seeing conditions on March 20, 2012. I guess capturing Wayne's Icy Cloud is not for here, no special features, just clouds and haze.
The bright cloud (spot) looks like a reflection of the Sun on a Martian Cloud.On the RGB image you can see a layer of thin haze covering the East side..
Also include a Red and IR742 images to compare.

excellent Freddy. that bright spot has a strong red component - wonder if it's dust? re Waynes feature, didn't one of your early images have clouds that looked like they were throwing shadows? - could have been something similarly high altitude maybe? Regards Ray

lovley images Freddy. Can i ask what process you go through to focus on the planet to get sharp images?

Hi There,
Well I use very different software for sharpening.
If the seeing is great then you do not have to use a lot, or you over sharpen the image and that really does not look good.
But when the seeing isn't all that great you sharpen the Hell out of you recordings and try to make it look good with some blur after.

I use the Registax Wavelets (with great seeing, the wavelets sharpening should be more then enough already !) then Gimp or PS, and sometimes ImagesPlus.. It all depends and most of the time I use then all and see which one gives the best result without any artifacts...
