Does anyone know how Maxim sends guiding signals back to the mount? I'm using Gemini and Gemini.net running on the PC with MaximDL and am wondering wherther I can remove the cable from the guide camera to the Guideport on the Gemini control board. If Maxim guiding actually operates via the RS232 link between PC and Gemini rather than through the guideport, it seems possible I can do that.

Look on the Settings tab on the Guiding screen in Maxim Peter. I'm sure there are options on the top right hand side of that screen to select how it sends the signals back (I think with my setup I can send signals back via the guider, or the guide socket on my QSI - not sure about via the RS232 link to the mount though).

MaximDL can talk directly via the serial port e.g. The MtStromlo protocol, but I don't know if that is true for Gemini or not as I don't have a Gemini setup.
If you go into the Guider Settings tab, over the top right hand side is a drop down box marked 'Control Via' where you can select the method.
