Yeh? well doesn't look like it from your excellent result .

This less featured face isn't as popular to showcase, I guess because of the lack of features present compared to other faces?

Is the lighter coloured circle near the centre of the orb Elysium Mons?

Thanks for posting another great shot of Mars.

Very nice Asi!
and don't worry, in 2 years time it will be back and even bigger and brighter for us in the Southern Hemisphere.

John, it's not long until August and then Mars will be as big a the full Moon. :)

And thought I'd practice my drizzling on this rather unsavory (In a bad seeing way) lot of data & I'm super impressed. This one was at F20 & drizzled by a factor of 3 then resized down again in post processing.

John, I'm assuming you used the drizzle function in AS!2?

Do you find you need to use a lot more wavelets to get the sharpness when you drizzle? I've found I need to almost max out layers 1 and 6, and I still don't get as good detail as I get 1x.

Just wondering if there is something particular you do in the wavelets stage to get this good a result.

Last one is nice John. I like that.

Yes Ivan AS!2 for drizzling. Yes I know what you mean about having to almost max out the waveletts but at what scale does this start to happen? F30 & upward AFAICS so I only use drizzling for small, undersampled stuff. I deliberately shot this test AVI undersampled (F20) with drizzling in mind & found it reacted normally to waveletts. Mileage may vary here & I'm not certain what's happening without further testing.
