Most of our perception dumb blondes comes from movies with blondes tacking a leading part as scatterbrained girl friends of gangsters. However It takes an extremely intelligent person to play the fool effectively.

Although Sir Toby Belch said of Sir Andrew Aguecheek in Twelfth Night. "It takes a wise man to play the fool but Sir Andrew does it naturally".

I agree it is generally accepted that it takes a smart person to be funny and have the audience laugh with you.

Sadly sometimes a situation can be funny where the audience will laugh at the person.

I do that a lot. My computer doesn't print what I say. The keyboard has a mind of its own. I pick up a lot of spelling mistakes that my computer is not intelligent enough to notice. You missed the other mistake "twelfth"
