"What is this Nebula called"

I took this image last night while testing guiding through Guidemaster.

I dont have a clue what Neb this is....I just happen to see it partialy in a guide test image so I centered it and took 4 x 5 minute exposures.

It is in the Carina constellation close to the key hole.

I'm pretty happy with the autoguiding so far.

So whats it called.???????

I dont know either. But here is a pic with yours aligned with Registar.Bottom left corner.
I have Guidemaster loaded configured and ready! All I need is some clear sky. Any hints about the calibration process? I really like the features of this program. Did you try running your Canon with it. The dithering between exposures looks like a really good feature.

Bert...just get a bright star centered that is much brighter then any other star....I changed the settings to time take 5000ms calibration steps instead of 1000ms...it will move in all directions once you click calibrate...you dont need to do anything..onced it's done calibration is set...as long as you stay on the same side of the meridian your done...then just push guide and pick click on your guide star....everything will be graphed...very simple and very easy...you can play with other settings but this will get you started.

My guess is NGC3247. It's listed as an open cluster but the description is "st inv in neb" - stars involved in nebula. RA 10h 25.9' Dec -57d 56' - sound about right?

Found it using Taki's 8.5 Mag star Atlas.

Sorta looks like the compact cluster NGC 3603 and it's nebula, Plate 12 in Hartungs, it is near Eta Carina, my guess anyway by aligning the stars up visually. North appears like it is in the top right corner.

Found it.

For some reason I couldn't find it on my observatory computer...must of been an option unticked.

I wont tell you but Sheeny is very warm as they say...John....your cold...lol

Ok....no takers...the image is of RCW49 what ever that means...never heard of it.

I do know how ever the image in Starry nights looks nothing like mine...lol
