Mercury and Uranus at 208x

Finished a run of jupiter and looked to the east and saw mercury and thought why not. Uranus was directly above and really easy to find. I then thought why not, so here is a very very quick burst of mercury and uranus at 208x.

The full 1500x will have to wait.

Nice one! Uranus is going to be on my target list in the next month.

Mercury is just too low in the East for me, plus i've usually left for work by then. I've only ever captured it once, before I had tracking.

Good result and look forward to the next efforts at longer FL.

The shot of Uranus looks just like real life....little, round and well....blueish. If only some of the planets were a little closer and brighter, and the Moon was a LOT darker hey!

When I have shown the scope off to friends, I haven't bothered showing them the outer outer planets. I will always remember one friends reaction at his first seeing of Mars last year "oh wow, it's like a little red circle...is that all?" Hate to think what his reaction to Uranus would have been.

stretch those planetary wings DP, nice ones. I've bagged uranus, but want to give Mercury a crack. My morning horizons's the only good one so now might be the time!

Dave is this the same image scale that you use for saturn and jupiter?

We want surface detail ;)

Thanks guy, Geoff. this was toucam prime focus without powermate or extension tube. os 1250 / 6 = 208x

With powermate + 100mm extension tube, i can multiply this by 7.7x = 1600x magnification

What time were Uranus and Mercury Visible?

from 6am onwards roughly, just ahead of the glow of the sun.

uranus is roughly 2 degrees above venus
