Hi All,
Imaged Mars this morning. The predictions were for very nice seeing but the reality was a lot different.
As usual, the 807nm IR handled the iffy conditions really well and I have a really nice 807nm IR animation of the session. The RGB's were pretty ordinary but I did capture one reasonable data set.
Tonight is also predicted to be good and I am just about ready to go down and open up my observatory to have another go.
Thanks for looking
Regards
Trevor

Just another minor fiddle with this RGB, I think an improvement.

Hi Trevor
Thanks for the pics - I looked up at Mars last night and thought it looked good - then it rained on me!!!!

Nice one Trevor. I was sucked in by the forecast last night as well. Imaging was not good, but I did see those massive clouds over the Hellas Planitia basin that you have captured very well.
One thing I did not get, but you have, is the Huygens crater which stands out really well in the upper right corner of Syrtis Major on this image.

Very nice views again Trevor, even though the conditions were not the best the detail is amazing. Thanks.

very fine detail in there Trevor - as Ivan noted the Hellas clouds stand out well - they seem to be spreading. Regards Ray

Thanks Matt, hope the rain clears, I rely on you & Dave to keep me up to date with whats happening on the Sun.
Thanks Ivan, was rather pleased with the level of detail. I have a very hi res wall chart of Mars, sourced from National Geographic and much of the labeled detail can be identified in this data.
Thanks lester, of all the planets Mars seems to handle adverse conditions the best.
Thanks Derek, appreciate your comment.
Thanks John, good to see you out imaging again.
Thanks Ray, lets hope there is some good seeing on the way.
