View Full Version here: : secondary holder
Hi everyone. I recently replaced my broken R&P focuser with a Crayford from GSO. Then new one is a 2" with 1.25" adapter so after enlarging the hole in the OTA my secondary mirror isnt exactly centred. The Celestron 8" Starhopper its on has a single stalk secondary holder. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what is the best way to tackle this. Ive been thinking about changing to a multi vane spider or keeping the single stalk and extending the part that holds the mirror. Thanks Cam

Cam,
For those of us who don't have a Celestron 8" Starhopper a photo of the problem might help the ATMers suggest a solution.
I am assuming that you need to either raise or lower the secondary holder? Can this be done by replacing a bolt with a longer/shorter bolt?
I built my own secondary holder out of timber...
