Startlingly clear after deconvolusion - really quite amazing when you consider what was possible by amateurs only a few years ago.

I like the 3D look to this view Mike. Colour is very pleasing too. Of particular interest is the homunculus. What exposure did you do to mask that in?

I really like the rich magentas in the image and I think I need to take another look at my image I did last year. You might have inspired a reprocess.

Great work as usual.

Yes decon is quite good but only if you use multi strengths, with a shortish FL like 1180mm I need to upsample sections inorder for it work ok and it does best on bright bits. Variable strength unsharp mask and high pass filter assist too.

Paul I had 5X20sec Ha exposures taken as position snaps that I saved by mistake and found after the fact, the colour was from PS manipulations based on what I know (think) it should be...

You think...?

There are certain benefits to being in orbit me thinks

Very nice Mike and I think it does rate quite well besides Hubble.

Hi Mike,

Your work is very inspiring!!
Iv'e been imaging for a few months now with the new setup and slowly learning and never realised how much was involved in imaging and processing.

Thanks,

Justin.

Very nice Mike, that's a beautiful capture and I really like the framing! I've always found the area in the lover right just as interesting as the Keyhole itself, so it's nice to see it all together like this.

Cheers Steve, Justin, Rolf, Rob and Ross

There is no comparison really, having the Hubble shot alongside just kind of brings your attention to details that you may not have noticed.

I sit here far too long working on this stuff :scared: :nerd:

Great comparison Mike.
I often compare my images with those from much larger scopes such as Hubble, and I must admit that I am constantly amazed at the amount of detail that even a small time amateur like me can pick up with modest equipment that is also visible in Hubble images.

Cheers Greg, Mark and Dave, mucking around with your data is an addiction I recon

Glad you all liked the view and yes we live an exciting age of imaging
