Colour first light for FSQ106

Well I got some colour for Eta Carina with the FSQ106. I had to discard quite a few frames because I currently have a camera flexure problem with this telescope that will have to be resolved. I'm reasonably happy with this for a first light but I think the scope could do a lot better.

Very nice color there, are u using a oag with the stl1100M ? I've seen lots use it that way with the fsq to avoid the drag of the camera.

Very good Steve. A bit of flexure as you point out but you get away with a lot at that focal length. Star sizes seem a tad large for the image scale. Was focus perfect? FSQ also shifts focus with temp changes a bit more than other APOs.

Is this FSQ106N or ED?

Really dig the colour work also Steve, clashes really nicely, seperating the Neb from the stellar population, Top stuff ! !

Great looking image.

My only comment is that there are almost too many stars. The tiny pinpoints produced by undersampling at this scale look almost like noise which distract me from the nebula.

But that being said its still a wonderfull image and lots of potential for his combo.

Thanks Greg. This is an ED. Yes - I wasn't that happy with the star sizes either. My blue data may have been slightly out of focus but there might have been some temperature effects. I think I've just about worked out the flexure so the next image should be better.
