12" OTA or Dob Wanted

I'm after more aperture but I don't have the big bucks for the premium Dobs (or SCTs). I am seriously considering getting a basic 12" Dob or OTA and converting it to a truss Dob. I was thinking of getting a basic GS Dob from Bintel, but as luck would have it, they only sell Deluxe models as of recently. But I already have all the extras so the Deluxe is not worth the extra cost for me.

So if you have a basic 12" Dob or OTA with GS or similar quality optics that you don't want any more, I'd be interested to hear from you.

Can't you just buy a 12" GSO mirror? Make your own mirror holder, etc.. you're on your way to building your own :)

Froggy was selling his 12", for the right price it might still be available.

Andrews is the only dealer I know that sells the mirrors for $699. I can buy a complete 12" Dob from them for $799 (maybe a bit less without eyepieces), which will include spider, secondary and mirror cell so it's cheaper just to buy the Dob. Could slice up the OTA for a truss dob, resusing the two mirror ends... :confuse3:
