View Full Version here: : Mars, 13th March
Finally a clear night - it's been weeks since my last image. The seeing was still pretty poor but I'll take whatever I can get just to have some images of Mars from this apparition...
90s per channel in IR / G / B , Grasshopper Express.

That is a fantastic image!
I was out last night and I can confirm the poor seeing. (Queanbeyan area)
Looking at Mars through a 8mm ethos and I struggled to see any detail, just some brief dark patches. A very unstable atmosphere.
Well done
Cheers
Phil
Thanks Houghy & Phil.
Last night was the first time in recent weeks where I could see the polar cap visually, and some hints of surface detail. The camera sure makes a difference.

Creditable effort there Bird, reckon you should have been out here over the last 5 days, you would have loved it.

Yep nice Anthony. Gotta love red channels when that is the only detail channel. Makes it so much easier to get nice images. Mars is definitely easier to image even when the seeing is average.

Thats a pleasing level of detail for Mars, great to use IR when red is not quite good enough.
