Hi Guys
Dug up some data of the Tadpole Galaxy from the Hubble Legacy Archives and decided to give a go.
Hope you enjoy :)

Louie that is extraordinary. Great to see you working with that data from Hubble and what you can produce. It might be informative if you wrote up a small article in how you retrieved the data and then processed it. It could prove to be a challenge for others to do a new one each month and post efforts.

Hi Louie,
What an amazing photo.
Top class processing...magic!
I agree with Allan. I would love to know how you processed it.
Maybe another excellent tutorial...?
Thanks.
Ross.

Fantastic, I'd love to have a go at Hubble data too. Perfect for a rainy day which we've had plenty of lately.

WOW Louie I see your new scope and the imaging results - fantastic effort there. That would be the ultimate cloud fixer - your seach paid results

Allan, the Hubble detail is incredible ain't It! The instruction for retrieving data for the Hubble Legacy Archives is at their site mate for anyone who wants a shot It...some fun on a cloudy nights.
The techniques in processing this data are from my tutorials, but I'd have to add that working in 32 bit data was beneficial before conversion to 16 bit and, also the conversion methods used.
An adaptive HDR 32/16 bit conversion was needed at differing levels to bring out some great detail and then another HDR conversion with a duplicate image with the Exposure and Gama adjustment.
Lots of color corrections were needed !
This is the original Hubble team release of the image many years back now.

Anyway, glad you enjoyed It Allan.
Ross, thanks mate but I don't think I'll be doing a tutorial on this any time soon because the file size would be just too large at a few gigs. But hey,who knows I might just put one on DVD just for you :)
Thanks for your time SkyViking....instructions are at the Hubble Legacy site...have fun.
Thanks David....I'd lend It to you any time! hey,If we were yanks It would belong to us....well,kind of.
Thanks Marc, glad you enjoyed It mate.

Great job Louie, you have certainly revealed more details in the main galaxy compared to the original and that fan of blue stars on the far side of the galaxy has a real tidal wave like appearence.
Nice work mate.

Thanks Mike...resolved stars in the tidal stream....Hubble's really something ain't It.
This galaxy is reported to be 420 million light years away and apparently, the faintest of galaxies in this deep field stretch back to nearly the beginning of time! wow.
Thanks D! ah,yeah I did.

That's amazing - I hope it comes up on APOD.
You've done a better job than the original NASA processing people.
I didn't know you could download original Hubble data!
