I had the good fortune to attend a screening of the IMAX movie Roving Mars at the Darling Harbour theater with members of NSAS tonight.
I found the film very enjoyable and the screen size amazing...especially during the launch scenes and the computer generated landing scenes. It was breathtaking.
To me one of the most remarkable things was how "real" the computer generated stuff looked...the line between reality and imaginary is getting pretty thin...(not intentionally meant to inspire consiracy theorists).
I was able to take my oldest son and he "soaked" it all up too...oh and ate a big bucket of popcorn...
I have been to only two IMAX movies this one and "Walking on the Moon" and found the experience of both very enjoyable!
Anyway, thanks NSAS for organizing this nice outing...and for those of you "hooked on space"...it is a well spent 45 minutes or so...
Clear Skies!
