This morning's trip into the mountains pre-dawn turned foggy and misty before reaching my intended destination to shoot the outside of an old (1903) mountain hut.

I have yet to process the images of the outside, (Planning a big one) but the inside proved very interesting. All I need is a person standing in the corner and the spookiness would be complete.

Strangely enough, I did hear a footstep in the next room of this two room hut while I was lying on the floor getting an angle. I investigated the darkness to find the room empty. I walked outside and around the building finding nothing. Back inside, I heard another noise on the roof, rather heavy like a footstep. Strange that it should be on the roof. I ran out to see if there were any birds on the roof. Nothing.

I left after a quick covering prayer over the building and here you see the images (and ghosts?) of history past.

1 Shattered outlook

2 Chimney up!

3 Packed to the rafters

4 Spine-chillin on the floor

5 Witches car-park

Would have made a cosey shelter for someone.
Nicely captured Baz

That broom looks fairly new and little used. Maybe someone has used the hut not too long ago.

Bazz ... I'm sure if the walls could ' talk ' ... they could tell a few stories.

As for the footsteps on the roof ... :face:

By the look of it, the sounds you heard were the bearers splintering. Those are delightful images. Full of texture and depth - also A+ for composition.
Thank you.

Never let splintering bearers get in the way of a good story Peter... :P ;)

You've got a great eye for what will look good in a photograph. I've taken a few shots of huts and mine look flat and boring. I'd never think that a broken window or a broom in the corner could make interesting shots, but I'm looking and maybe learning. BTW did you shoot in b&w or in colour and convert later? The use of b&w certainly adds to the effect.

Thanks David. I converted in PS. I took these photos with this in mind though, keeping with the theme of history and age.
