Arrgh....Clouds!

.....just when I thought I could get a few hours of data...

Here's 40 minutes worth of something else (cropped 50% res)
...Maybe I should give it a snappy name...Slam-Dunk nebula

Should have stuck with the program :)

Have to say this is one of the most impressive imaging telescopes I have ever used. Kudos to AP, the correction to the very edge of the field is amazing.

Perfect FOV for it. Impressive 40min on a faint one under the moon. That small cluster is also resolved. Really cool.

Thanks Frank. I've finally sorted the image plane tilt and am pretty chuffed with result.

Ta. The dark nebula under the loops has been called the "Statue of Liberty" nebula elsewhere.

Humm...looks like a guy doing basket-ball lay-up to me. What do you think? Shaq O'Neil nebula? Yao Ming dunk nebula? :)

Thanks Marc. Well, it's not the brightest nebula that's for sure :)
NB is great for bright skies:thumbsup:...problems with the moon & light pollution etc. all go away

OK...it's now official the IAU has re-named NGC 3576 as the "Slam-Dunk" nebula :D

Yes (bagging data as I write...as you do with a robotic dome ;) )

I'm working on it!

Gnome eh? Bound and gagged? ....found one in my local bushland... very sad...thought he was in Paris....well, plaster-of-paris :)

Nice Peter. It has better resolution that I got with the TSA102, but then again it is 8" V 4".

Thanks Darren....got an hours worth of SII last night...very depressing...seems to be very little, if any, SII there...might have to switch to HaRGB for this one

I must admit Peter that images like this have really begun to expand my interest in more than just colour images. The detail is wonderful and I really enjoyed looking at this!

Darrin...
