I have upgraded to a 10" Meade got it from the classifieds
it came with a ultra wedge but as my Latitude is 20 D and the wedge doesnt go beyond 68 D and I need 70 D I am some what stuck any mods to get the extra 2 Degrees

For 2 degrees you may be able to get away with washers on the top bolt between the wedge and the scope base.

If you offset the tripod base by a certain number of degrees and then use an angle finder on the mounting plate of the wedge to get the required declination, would that not work?

Thanks for the replies I found that if I removed the Degree indicator this gave me the extra that I need and a bit more but I will be installing a longer latitude rod as at 20 Degrees it is only in the worm drive about
3 to 4 threads I am getting one made up at work

I built an alternative plate for the wedge that would allow movement down to about 15 degrees. It also had to be lengthened to allow clearance for the fork arms to rotate.

How ever setting a wedge to such a low angle will increase problems of weight distribution and flexure. An equatorial mount is a far better proposition.
