Hi everyone!
Well as promised, here is the repro of last night's data. As last night, I've included an image from Stellarium and also some features on the Martian surface.
As mentioned in last night's post, this is a 600 frame stack in Registax6 of data collected using eyepiece projection, a 10mm eyepiece and a 2x Barlow. The camera used was my new QHY5V and this was my first attempt at imaging Mars.
Yep, happy am I!!
Cheers,
Mario

Great imaging Mario.
I made multiple attempts to get a good visual of Mars through the eyepiece. When Saturn was high in the sky, the Cassini Division was easily seen but Mars was a hard target to view. I did get to see the polar cap and some of the darker areas on the planets surface but was still a little disappointed with the final results.
Was the seeing a little below average last night?

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts on this, and the previous, image of Mars. It was especially gratifying to get such a pleasing result with my first serious use of my new QHY5V as I'd gotten it specifically with the Martian opposition in mind.
Now all I need is a few more cloud free nights.....
Cheers,
Mario
PS AS part of a negotiated deal, my wife said I could get the new camera if I lost 7kg. I'm now down to almost 9kg lost and still going. However my wife pointed out that the deal didn't mean I could get something for every 7kg I lose!
