Anyone looking for a clamshell for an 80mm or 90 mm refractor?

I recently bought a Stellarvue F80M2 finder here on IIS, which I want to use as a grab and go scope.
The adjustable finder rings are a bit bulky, and this clamshell will suit me far better.

I found a source on eBay, clamshells for AU$9.00 plus AU$10.00 postage from Arizona.

Lightweight, bottom section is cast metal, top section plastic.
4 holes for fixing to a dovetail etc.

I reckon this is pretty good for the price.

Cheers

Hi Daniel,

I knocked up a plate to connect the clamshell to a Vixen dovetail.
Amazing what you can do with a drill and an angle grinder in 15 minutes! :D

The tripod is not the best though, I'll now have to look around for a manfrotto with a fluid drive head, more dollars!

Cheers
