I need to purchase this camera for a telecine job:

My question is, is it any good for astro work? Once the job is finished I could buy it off the project at a reduced price, just wondering if it might be worth it?

Oh, and has anyone added cooling successfully to the grasshopper models?

Peter,

see here some saturn work bird has done with a Grasshopper camera from Point Grey... http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=85782&highlight=grasshopper

I beleive they have an ROI function that allows you to use only part of the ccd for fast imaging (ie planetary work).
