Hi all,
I imaged for a little while this morning and captured a full disc (0.5 focal reducer on the DMK31) and a closer look at AR 1429 - the active region responsible for the recent flares 'attacking Earth'. I caught a couple of imaged 45 minutes apart and you can see the brightening from the flare.
Image taken through my new LS80 Ha scope.

Looks like a pretty evenly illuminated field as well as great detail Matt.

Thanks guys - while setting up for the disc shot - exposure and gamma etc a passenger jet flew across the Sun and from my angle you could see the windows flicker as the Sun light must have passed through the far side windows to the ones on my side. I was not imaging and kicked myself for being so particular with settings - If I was imaging I reckon I would have had passenger silhouettes - easy come easy go!

Yeah, that's what I've been waiting for. Congrats on the new scope Matt, it's obviously a beauty.
