My son Steve flew over Warragmaba Dam in his Cessna on Sunday whilst it was in flood and took some aerial photos.

I processed them to bring them up more:

Last time the floodgates were open was in 1998. So its a rare event.

I saw something in one of the papers that Warragamba holds 2,079 gigalitres and since it started spilling they had released about 350 gigalitres and increasing. That's about 17% of design capacity.

Amazing. The Hawkesbury River was extremely swollen twice in the last week and got closed once for several hours.
