Brilliant image, Leonardo. The stars are so tight and with wonderful colour in them and the galaxy. Really well done as usual and that AO system is paying dividends.

Everyone has used all my usual adjectives to describe a great image. Even at full res the detail is fantastic. I really like the blue star cluster and nebulae on the right hand side of the galaxy. The stars are superbly round and overall the colouring is very nice. Well done.

I like that photo - great sharp detail.
Is it the SXV-AO-LF Active Optics - SX Lodestar
that is improving your resolution?
Any comparison without AO?

:thanx:

Thank you so much for your kind comments...happy to read you like this
galaxy. The SX-AO system work very fine for my setup ... i'm oversampled and the AO help me to micro-chasing the signal ... this is equal to increase raw details and SNR. Long exposure and postprocessing doing the difference in terms of deconvolution and wavelet filtering.

FITs are free if you want to try ... send me a mail.

I take this opportunity to congratulate for the great pictures you posted all of the forum, bar none. Having problems with English and having little time, I limit my posts a lot. I would not write nonsense :).

All the best,
Leo

PS Alpal, i never use the GSO at F8 without AO ... (my mount is very precise but is to small and my site is windy) ... to have a good details

Leo,

Thanks Leo.
Well you're getting great results.
I would say that the adaptive optics is the icing on the cake.
cheers

I took the liberty of dragging your image into photoshop to give it a bit of a stretch some extra data came out.

Congratulations Leo on image of the week, it's richly deserved. Your image is shows this galaxy really is odd as there is such a sudden and square limit to both the faint stars on the left and right hand sides. It's so square!

The best compliment I can make is that when I first saw this image, I thought it was from one of the new 16" or 20" DK's that are very popular. Was I shocked! Great image processing here!
