Hey been on here for a while but just giving a shout out to the Perth Astro
community.
Just moved from Sydney to Perth and looking at finding clubs and fellow stargazers to go out observing with.
I spend most of my time South of the River for work but I am north of the river most weekends.
I got a 10inch Dob. If your in Perth and go observing gimme a msg and
we'll take it from there!
Cheers!

Hi Adam,
For Astronomical Society of WA, they have 2 venues North of the river for viewing. Bakers Hill for DSO and Whiteman Park for Lunar evening. The Club is located at Como.
Me personally I run Jarrahdale event for ASWA. Bit far for North of the river though.
Been having weather issues here in WA on DSO's. Next event for ASWA is Dryandra for 2 nights so Jarrahdale and Bakers Hill are off for the time being.
Finally there is also Tammin for really dark sky observing, lovely really dark site.
I also hope to make it to Astrofest at Curtin too.

As far as I know, only 2 clubs in Perth, one in Southwest and I think one much further up North but that is about it for the moment.
Private viewing time are few and far between but believe there are some. I personally do not have a lot of time at the moment for special sessions so mine are mostly at home.
Hi Adam,
You can find ASWA's 2012 observing calendar on their website - ASWA.info (http://ASWA.info)
Cheers,
HilB.

Hi Adam,
You chose a good location astronomically speaking to observe as it hasn't been cloudy here for a few weeks and it seems like we will have a longer summer. I'm also an ASWA member (A few of us are quite active on the forum). I'm surprised at the amounts of astro clubs over east. I guess we are just too isolated.
