By the time I got to Saturn after imaging Mars (clouds) the seeing had dropped away.

Still a very fine image. Regards Ray

Thanks Ray. I'm finding even in average seeing I'm still getting a full CD. I put this down to the altitude & the 618 chip. Having the C11 perfectly collimated helps too of course.

Still a creditable result Asi, the seeing has the ring detail looking just a little soft but the storm remnant and polar region came up pretty well.

Cheers

Thanks Trevor. I think the ring softness (mainly seen on the right portion) is due to yes, average seeing but also the aligning; or the slight misalignment of the stacking program. The rings were flapping like bird wings, so I can't blame it at all.

Happy enough with this though. A full CD used to be the benchmark, now it seems to be; getting the ring detail & the resolving of the Encke Division.

You've had some pretty remarkable results this season John.

Full CD used to be a bit harder last season when the ring plane was more closed up, but you are probably right, with your current rig and processing experience you could probably do it every time now:thumbsup:.

From the middle of the urban heat blob I've only had two sessions so far where I got images with the Cassini Division visible all the way around. Most often I get a blue CD, because it isn't even visible in the B channel!

I got to get off my tail and out to the country.

Thanks Ivan. Yes, my best season in my 6 years of dabbling. When the jetstream gets here though, it'll be a different story. I have found ways to beat the mid & low level interaction to a degree but there's no beating that jetstream I don't think.
