Jupiter and 2 moons

Spent last night getting my 8" SCT setup with guide scope guiding using guidedog and another program called guidemaster working with long exposure webcam and HEQ5-PRO mount. For those interested the latter gave exceptionally stable guiding. I was just about to pack up when I noticed Jupiter was about to disappear past my roofline, so I thought I would take a few quick avi's. This was from the first avi (320x240), 8" with 2x barlow, processed in registax (what else). I was pleased to see 2 moons captured as well. There is a lot to see at the moment when the cloads disappear.

Nice work Allan:) , you might want to try dropping the magenta a bit in colour balance, but detailis excellent. What time was this? I was imaging from 3.20am to 4.20am and the seeing was well, less than average...

I forgot to shoot with my IR filter in place and also I had an imaging program that would allow you to click on a white area of a picture and it would automatically adjust the colour balance-but I cant remeber which program it was. Does anyone out there know of a program that does this, from recollection it was a simple image editing program. My brain is a little weak.
The avis were shot lat Sat Night about 1200pm 25/03/06 and yes seeing was about 5/10

definitely better! Are you processing on a CRT screen or a Laptop LCD. It looks a tad dark on my CRT. This happens to me when I process for best view on the lappy first and then view on CRT.

Yes done on laptop first and then crt
Nicely picked up - I guess each system is different and each person's system gives a different interpretation of what they see.
I really like some of the softer and yet detailed shots that I have seen here. Sometimes I think I over process and back off a bit - but I do try to include what I see in the eyepiece or laptop screen in between the crappy seeing. So I guess the detail is right but I'm not happy with my ability to get the rest as a representation of what I see.
I love Iceman's shots. I think they are just right.
I have to shoot at 320x240 at 5fps with only 2xbarlow (thus small picture size) as my laptop can't handle anything greater without dropping frames and the colour is all wrong for me. Oh well it all takes time, patience and money. I finally got the colour balance right I think, so Ive added the new photo - better colour balance.
