when did you last image

Ever since I upgrade my visual rig to an AP rig, the weather has been nothing but atrocious. Cloud, clouds and the occassional rain.
The closest thing I did was taking the lot outdoors to cool down and when I try to assemble them 2 hours later, the clouds rolled in.
Two monhts at least since I got any viewing action. How long has it been for you?

Imaged last Friday and Saturday night on weekend just gone. From Melbourne too. Sky was great with excellent seeing from my light polluted location.

Right now I have more data to process than time to do it.

I should clarify, work commitments means that Sat nights are usually the main night for me. But I had to prepare for my son's BD party last Sat.

Imaged on Friday night from Griffith (country NSW) with clear skies, zero wind and (from my limited experience) reasonable-okay seeing, with ambient temps in the mid 20s.

Only had the imaging scope for a month, but i'm learning fast. Pulling all nighters isn't something i've done since I was at uni - my friends think im crazy...my wife knows im crazy :lol: but she's just as nerdy as i am so its all good :D

Lunar Eclipse nothing since then except for one night a fortnight ago I got to polar align and do a 6 min set of cone neb - maybe 1 1/2 hrs

Well let me see, last week imaged three nights. This year I have produced 5 DSO images and 4 planetary images. No problem here. :P Move to the central part of Australia guys. We have had more cloud but not that much to stop us from imaging. Are you guys getting a little wet over your way? ;) Best place in Australia to live I hear (the east coast). Lived all the way up and down that coast years ago and I still think this is the best place to live. Good luck with the rain. Might have a chance at doing some imaging later this week.:P

Sorry could not help it, you guys are moaning about the weather all the time. :lol: Astronomy always is and has been weather dependent.

I don't often look through the eyepiece ;). I don't do pretty pictures (not that there's anything wrong with that!), but I do do solar (white light), planets, supernovae, minor planets, comets, and exoplanet transits. I'm particularly interested in photometry. With that range of interests, there's always something to image.

My breakdown for the last 6 months:

September: 16 sessions
October: 7 sessions
November: 10 sessions
December: 16 sessions
January: 8 sessions
February: 14 sessions (so far)

The longest gap between sessions in the last 6 months has been 7 days. Sometimes, after 4 nights in a row, I'm actually hoping for clouds!

Spending a small fortune on hard drives to hold all the data!

Last night the sky cleared for a short while, so set up camera and tripod for some time lapse. Didn't last long though.
Before that, a couple of weeks ago to test out the 180mm macro on Eta Carina. Didn't bother posting the results though.

I managed to snap a shot of Sirius on request from the forums, and imaged Saturn whilst I was at it about a week ago, but it was the Lunar eclipse before that. It has been endless clouds and rain....

Thursday & Friday last week. It was beautiful. Very wet but nice and steady, no wind. Thursday was the best of the two nights.

Got a few snaps of the Sun with my new scope on Sunday a week ago, 20 minutes in total - I have not had the night scope out since the lunar eclipse in December - not my fault, the weather!!!!!

I only do photometry and have had about 6 nights since new year that I have got a little data. If it has been reasonably clear at dusk it is accompanied by strong wind. There hasn't been a photometric night this year yet.
I haven't even bothered with my spectrograph.

Did some general widefield photography on a tripod at Yarrawonga last weekend and a timelapse at the Jan Snake Valley club night but the last time I did any serious imaging with the mount , guiding etc was...:eyepop:..back almost 12 months ago at the March Snake Valley camp. Wow time flies!!

The end of November I took some twighlight shots of the Moon. I haven't had the scope out all winter since.
