Looking through my LightBridge today

Hello evryone

my Daddy set up and showed me how to use my telescope today.
I had a look at the moon and venus.
Thay were both close to each other in the day so it was easy to find.
They were both a crecent.
I tricked Mummy to have a look at the moon but it was really venus.
She beleved me and said wow then I told her it was venus and she laughed.

It was easy to use the telescope.

Did Dad get you a sky chart or planisphere for your birthday as well or does he let you use his? If you don't have one that would be something great to save up for if you get pocket money ;) They are great for learning your way around the night sky.

(planispere = a circular sky map that you turn to see what is up at night)

Yes it sure is fun to play with a new telescope and it can mean even more when you get to learn things about the objects you are looking at.

Do you know how far away Venus is or that a year on Venus is only 225 days?

Mr Astroman I have helped my Daddy take photos of the sun with the toucam and laptop, I was holding the umbrela :rofl:

Mr 1ponders yes we have a planishere and Daddy will teach me how to use it

Daddy is very jelous of me geting all this atention on Ice in space

Mr Starkler I am amazed to read that Jupiter is twice as big as all the other planets put together. I read it at the web site you told me about nineplanets.org
I can't wait to see it through my telescope.

See its a lot more exciting when you read something amazing about an object and then get to see it in the telescope :)

Hows this? Tell Dad you want him to take you to the very nearest star (apart from the Sun). If you went in your car it would only take 46,440,000 years at 100km/h highway speed :lol:

Be careful if you are looking at things in the daytime. Make sure you do not point your nice new scope at the sun. Make sure Rocket Boy is there with you when you use it at daytime.

BTW. You have a very nice looking scope there. I wish I had one that nice. I am sure you will have lots of fun with it.
