The image of the LMC was taken last night from Snake Valley.

There are 2 or 3 concentric rings near the top left edge of the image that seem to be centered on a star - hand drawn line around the area.

Unfortunately, the jpeg doesn't illustrate it very clearly. Two cropped areas from different processing methods. Any idea what this might be. Google led to academic papers about microlensing in this area.

i have seen this before and assumed it was gas bubbles. might be a supernova remnant.

That object is called N70 (N), a faint Bubble nebula :thumbsup:

Thanks Ken. Focus and tracking could be better though.



I was surprised to see that kind of detail at 200mm.
