Appreciate that, thanks mate!
Cheers Troy, glad you think so! :)
Thanks Rolf. Couldn't do it without my trusty Tak! Operating at 825mm with the reducer it's a killer!
Thanks Trev!

Great result Marcus
As I suspected the field is size suits this object. Perhaps not as vibrant as I was expecting :confuse3: (not a criticism) but overall a fine image

Another beautiful image Marcus. The best Rosette of the year. You really are on top of this imaging game.

Cheers Marc! I was pretty thrilled at the detail and range of colour present.
Thanks Bart!
Thanks Deeno!
Thanks Mike - and I always appreciate your feedback mate! I think I know what you mean but striking the balance and avoiding the fluro look was on my mind plus I'm trying (and maybe failing) to be "true to the light". Maybe you're too used to the wild colours of NB! ;) In any case I tweaked it very subtley but doubt there's much more I can do.
Cheers Paul! In times gone by (and still occassionally now ) the Rose was portrayed a bland and almost monochrome red! I think when you take the time, most objects will have a complexity of colour that can be surprising.
Thanks mate!
Glad you liked it Pete!
Thanks David - appreciate that! Now that you're back online I expect to see some stunners coming out of the Doghouse!
Hey Greg! Thanks mate! My processing workflow was a bit rusty with all this rain but I think I pulled it off. Did you get out on Thurs and Fri nights? First completely clear moonless nights in months!

Wonderful image, Marcus. Beautiful color variation everywhere and so much detail you can get lost in there looking at it all.

Brilliant effort Marcus! I especially like the processing you've done on those dark globules. Actually, I haven't visited here (Deep Space) for a while; after all, it hasn't stopped raining for the past three months!! Over how long did you collect the data? I haven't done any image processing in yonks - I'll need some refresher lessons from the master I think!!

Don't delay! Process it and let's see! :) Cheers mate!
Thanks Rich! Makes me want to  when I think about what Sydney weather used to be like - plenty of clear nights! Now they're as rare as once or twice a month or two if you're lucky!
Thanks Steve. I was pleasantly surprised by the depth and variability of the colour actually.
Cheers Rob! I like to post full res because it allows the viewer to swim around in the image - no need for multiple versions, just zoom in and out to see the detail you want to see!
Thanks David. No special processing on the globules mate. I applied progresssive high pass filtering and unsharping to the whole frame to bring out the detail & contrast. I used some fairly large scale layer masking of course plus I had to preserve the stars from bloat.

That's a great shot Marcus. The processing, details and color saturation are just spot on. A lot of details but it's still smooth and natural. You can dig in and still see fine structure. Best rendition around.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks Marco - much appreciated! It would have made a good Valantines gift (printed & framed) if I'd finished it in time - that's what I was intending. Maybe next Valentines I'll print a dozen off
