I started taking a sequence of images of the Rosetta , last night, for a mosaic and most of the images, different panels and different exposures, have what look like satellite streaks through them. Far too many over a long time for them to be actual satellites. I imagine a meteors shower wouldn't be in that vicinity for such a long time either. FOV is 33 x 25 arc min hence the need for a mosaic of this large nebula!
The following are just a sample taken from 10:30 to 11:45 last night, SA time. Single shots, no calibration and greatly reduced for here.

Charles

Sorry, I don't know how to send smaller images, they are too large and very poor! :(

It's OK Charles. Nothing weird or Alien going on there.
They are just satellites moving through your images. happens all the time

Thanks Ken,

I knew about satellite trails of course, but not so many over consecutive images and also so many over the same area of sky. 1.7 hours was covered by those images. Ah well, must be a very crowded sky! :eyepop:
Thanks again,

Charles

Yes, it sure is!! Having just finished my rendition of Rosey I can tell you the satellites come thick & fast!!

Charles, watch this You Tube of Google Satellite (saves you from using the 'live' program) and you will quickly see why so many show up on our images
