Hi Astro-liano's , ,

I finally had some sky, albeit not that crash hot most of the time but some near 7/10 during early hrs last Sun 19th Feb whilst the Cent A galaxy was nice and high.
This is 13 x 7mins with the Orion ED100mm F/9 and 600D @ iso800, ICNR on each sub, some cloud interupted the run for 30 odd mins and had to re-frame; fortunately close enough for RegistaX to align all but the final did result with some field rotation, hence, the image has been cropped somewhat !
Also, Guiding was not great, bit out of practice maybe ? ? but hope you like it . It is however better than my last attempt of Cent A back in 2010, so I'm rather happy with it.

That's a fine image Bob, especially with the starfield. Nice work!

Cheers Franck, Peter, Dave & Justin !
It was the 1st time I seen field rotation in the few stacks that I have done, and picking an allignment star in the corner of frame had disastrious effect on the subject, let lone the opposite side of frame, so chose a star real close to the subject and rather relieved at this result !

Rather intimated by Registax also, maybe there is a Multi point allignment setting ?

nice one Bob, definately a tough month for imaging with all this crap weather and that Centaurus turned out great. Did you take that at Ashmore?

Not a bad shot at all.
It's a much harder target than some people think.
I too had guiding problems last year but managed to come up with a small jpg.
I am waiting to do better this year.
I'll wait for the first fine night.
This is what I got after cropping & much processing of the old data.

Cheers Nick & long awaiting for some normal astro weather, but when ?
Unfortunately Not taken from Ashmore, too light polluted for my gear, unmodded slr, no filters etc : ) This was taken from Leyburn which is kinda half way between Warwick & Toowoomba

Thanks alpal, thats a fine result you have, also showing good details in the dust lane which make this target a good challenge, well done
