Does anyone have experience with using a focal reducer with a 6" GSO RC?

If so what brand and model?

I have tried the standard 2" 0.5 Gso reducer with difficulty reaching focus.

Surprisingly it works better on my 8" Newtonian. In fact works great on the Newtonian, much better than I thought it would (not perfect to the edges but usable still)

I have read that RC's are not a good scope to use focal reducer on but thought worth a try.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I know that Rock Mallincam makes a reducer he claims works well on RC scopes
You may want to search for some reviews, it is called the MFR-5, I will have one soon, so I could send it up to you to have a go with.

Peter,

Thanks for the reply and offer to use your MFR-5 when it arrives.

It looks like a great reducer/flattener.

What scope you intended to use it on?

Do you know if the rear thread is t-ring (looks like it in the photo's but I could not find info on their web page as to size etc).

Where in NSW country are you located?

Regards

I don't know much about it, I'll be using it with the Meade 10" ACF SCT.
