I hooked up the dslr using APT and couldn't get anything to show up.
Tried focusing in and out, I've got an eyepiece projection photography adapter.
Took various exposures and they all turned out black.
What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated.

The eyepiece will reduce light and the size of the image drastically, so try your widest open eyepiece first (say a 25mm or larger).

To see where it focuses and how large the image is, use a white piece of card behind the eyepiece/adapter setup and look at the image on the card, where it is in focus is where the CCD would need to physically be to be in focus.

Nice straightforward instructions here:

A longer eye relief ep will give you a chance to see what's happening.
stay with the 25mm or thereabouts - I don't think the bigger ones will actually fit in the projector
