Hi,

Something of interest to all old geezers like me who rate the Beach Boys highly

http://blog.brianwilson.com/tour/

however

When you look at the intensity of the tour even as announced to date, that's a really punishing schedule for old Beach Boys. So I doubt they'll make it here, but who knows?

We saw the tour here by Mike Love, Bruce Johnston and company, and they were really good at the Opera House. If the reunited band is better than that, they'll be a smash.

Cheers

I saw a concert a couple of years ago with a lineup of various bands (Chicago, America etc) and one of the beach boys (I think Mike Love? played keyboards and sang) and it was a fantastic performance, just couldn't get enough of it. Dare I even say, his set brought upon the biggest excitement amongst the audience. He had some back up male singers helping out with the high bits.
As for Chicago, I was disappointed- no angry :mad2: that the lead singer wasn't there and a replacement sang all the songs. And Peter Frampton spat the dummy because the crowd wasn't getting into it \touchy/

Although I love the Beach Boys music you wonder sometimes when enough is enough and they and others such as Mick Jagger should just fade out with dignity

The other article highlighted Mike Love being 71 etc

Hmmm, no thanks.

1. Tired of "has been" groups trying to recreate their golden days.

2. Beach Boys had only one good song anyway; Student Demonstration Time.

:D :P
