Hi,

Being on a somewhat limited budget, I find the full version of Photoshop prohibitively expensive. I believe that PS Elements will do quite a lot of the tasks that the full version does, but does anyone use Corel's Paintshop Pro (currently version X4)? From what I can see it seems a bit more powerful than PS Elements. Any comments?

Thanks,

Try GIMP, works for me. I still want PS and will be able to as a student.

I've been using a frebbie version of PaintshopPro for the last few years, and just picked up a copy of PSPV4 for 30gbp...
It's very good and does 90% of what Photoshop does for 5% the price.
Certainly recommended.

I've got PaintShop Pro 6 and 9, older versions. Still find them more than adequate for my purposes. I actually use 6 more than 9 as it loads faster and does most operations I require. PSP 9 compares quite well with PhotoShop ( IMO) as to functionality. I find them both easier to use. I have actually used the layers system to stack astropix and fiddle with transparency to get best results.
What price can you get it for ?
