Hi. Tried some imaging from my son's property in the Riverland - quite different seeing from my usual site. The thermals that kept the pelicans aloft during the day messed up seeing until well past midnight and then it suddenly got very cold. By the time the scope had stabilised, the seeing was usable, with limited local turbulence and some detail getting through the jetstream. After a lot of messing about, R6 did the best job on this data. The red channel was the only one with detail at Mars altitudes, so had to resort to RRGB for that image - Saturn is RGB. Both were resampled for display. Thanks for looking. Regards Ray

Still very nice Ray. I am yet to get any runs on the board for this apparition. Perhaps this Saturday night from Clayton.

Both good images Ray!

I especially like the Mars -- the processing is quite smooth and it has a bit of that "globe" look to it.

I had a clear night last night, but Saturn was a blobby mess, great to see someone having success!

thanks John. I kept messing with the processing and eventually got a significant improvement and better colour alignment using LRGB. Regards Ray

Yes, I'm a compulsive 'messer' as well Ray. Certainly pays to try different things in the area of processing, data enhancement.
