Centaurus A, NGC2516 and Beehive

Three image taken over 2 days, mostly I was trialling a new set-up remote operations, now after polar alignment is complete and syncing, I am able to carry out nearly all other function from within the house.

The key is Teamviewer software and dual monitor set-up in the office. I can place the outside set-up on one monitor while continuing to do other stuff on the other monitor.

I still prefer direct Bluetooth connection but correctly the cameras cannot support this at this moment.

All three are relatively short exposures, 60 to 120 seconds and was also experimenting with the best configuration of PHD for guiding.

The noise is a bit objectionable with all the image although an attempt was made to reduce it with NGC2516 last night and today with multiple ISO and a total of 90 exposures or 80 until the weather came in :(

Nice work Malcolm. Do you find the lag with Teamviewer annoying or does your setup allow quick response? Are you focussing remotely as well?

I use Teamviewer locally and have good WiFi internally so I do not experience lag much at all, unless the kids are online.

I still manually focus, I am building a focus motor control (much later) but overall I focus on the initial set-up at the moment.

I think my set-up will remain as it is for a while, Uni starts soon and more interested in getting the DOB fully operational at the moment.

As far as this setup goes, planning sessions is more important.

If I'm not mistaken, the image labelled the Beehive looks remarkably like NGC 4755, the Jewel Box Cluster near Beta Crux. Other than the mistaken identity the images are excellent, well done. If I'm in error please feel free to pillory me, I'll deserve it.

Thanks Jeff, what a blunder. Too rushed I think. I know I was trying for Beehive and I may have changed the position and never changed the data entry. Good spot.

Glad to help Malcolm, I really like the wide field view that you've captured with the dark edge of the Coalsack contrasting with the starfield and 2516 is one of my favourite clusters, doesn't seem to get much attention considering how big and bright it is.
Wish we could get some clear skies here on the east coast.
